Since early January of 2026, we have had squatters at 1221 N 88th St. As a nearby resident, I expect you have at least seen the cars with covered windows, expired tags or broken windshields. You may have also seen the enormous increase in foot traffic from 2 AM – 5 AM, or the increase in lime bikes and scooters on our streets.
What you may not have seen or be aware of is that it appears that they are using the home for prostitution, drug dealing and possibly drug manufacturing.
Some brief history before going into some of the activity at the property. Maple Leaf Property Management is handling managing the rental property. Through a variety of mistakes, missteps and poor management, they handed the keys to the squatters prior to ANY payment going through and failed to evict at a trial that occurred in June 2026.
